President Smt. Draupadi Murmu today awarded Kirti Chakra to three martyred soldiers of Chhattisgarh for their supreme courage and sacrifice in the Naxal operation. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel bowed down to the three martyred soldiers who attained martyrdom in the Naxalite attack and expressed respect to their families. He said that getting the Kirti Chakra for the supreme courage and sacrifice of the jawans is a moment of pride for the family members as well as for Chhattisgarh.

President Mrs. Murmu presented the Kirti Chakra to the families of Martyr Sub-Inspector Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, Martyr Head Constable Mr. Sodhi Narayan and Martyr STF Head Constable Mr. Shravan Kashyap, who were martyred in Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh at a dignified ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. At the function, President Smt. Murmu presented the Kirti Chakra to Smt. Prantika Bhardwaj, wife of Martyr Deepak Bhardwaj, Smt. These three jawans have been awarded Kirti Chakra by the President for their supreme courage and sacrifice in the Naxal operation in Bijapur district of Bastar region.

It is worth noting that sub-inspector martyr Deepak Bhardwaj was a resident of Pehrid of Malkharoda in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh, constable martyr Sodhi Narayan of Bijapur district Punur and STF head constable Shaheed Shravan Kashyap of Bastar district were residents of Baniya village.
