Thieves have been creating terror in the capital Raipur since Diwali. Many major theft incidents have come to light one after the other. Targeting three houses including a property dealer and a coal businessman, around Rs 37 lakh was seized including cash and jewellery. A similar pattern was also seen in two major thefts.

A theft worth Rs 21 lakh was reported from the house of a property dealer in Mana police station area. So, thieves stole around Rs 15 lakh from a coal trader living in Azad Chowk police station area. The thieves used the back bedroom window to enter the house. In the evening, they broke the grill and entered inside. On November 18, the property dealer’s house was targeted.

Surendra Sahu, a resident of Siddhi Vinayak Colony of Mana police station area, lodged an FIR on November 18 that he had gone for a walk in the nearby garden with his daughter and wife. It was around 6 in the evening. When he returned home after an hour, the main gate was locked. When he entered the bedroom, he saw that the window rod was broken.

Apart from this, the entire stuff of the bedroom was scattered. The cupboard locks were also broken. The thief had stolen Rs 7 lakh in cash from a red bag kept inside the cupboard. Apart from this, the gold and silver jewelery worth lakhs kept in the cupboard, which included 4 necklace sets, bracelet, mangalsutra, ring, bangle, including cash and jewellery, had crossed the value of about Rs 21 lakh. The police’s hands are still empty in this case. Theft at the coal merchant’s house on November 18.

The second theft took place at the house of Saket Singhania located in Samta Colony of Azad Chowk police station area. While registering an FIR in the police station, he told that he is a coal trader. Around 6:30 in the evening, he had gone to Satsang Bhawan located in Avanti Vihar with his family. When he returned, he saw that the main gate of his house was locked, but the gate was locked from inside. On entering the house, the bedroom door and the grill of the outside window were broken. The thief broke into the cupboard of the house and stole gold-diamond earrings worth Rs 5 lakh, gold tops, coins and bangles, a gold watch and cash worth Rs 15 lakh. At present, Azad Chowk Police has registered an FIR in this matter, but in this also the hands of the police are still empty.

Fear of entry after doing Reiki

According to information received from police sources, the thieves might have first conducted recce of both the houses. The theft incident took place in the evening. It is clear that as soon as the family went out of the house after locking it, the thieves approached the window of the house from behind. Then he cut it and entered inside. The thieves did this entire incident within just one to one and a half hours. During this time, there is also a fear that thieves may have been keeping a constant eye on the family.
