In Chhattisgarh, daughters of poor families will now be married with full respect. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the amount of Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana has now been increased to Rs 50 thousand. On the occasion of marriage, an amount of Rs 21 thousand will be given to each girl in the form of bank account or bank draft. Apart from this, gifts worth Rs 15,000 will also be given. In the current financial year, a target has been set for the marriage of three thousand girls in the first half and 07 thousand 500 girls on an annual basis, with this the dream of many poor families to get their daughters married respectably will be fulfilled.
Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Rs 8,000 per girl will be spent on wedding arrangements and transport for each girl, along with this, Rs 6,000 will be spent on bride and groom’s clothes, makeup materials etc. on the occasion of marriage. Along with this, gift material worth Rs 15,000 will also be presented to the married couple. It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has increased the assistance amount for the marriage of daughters twice. In the year 2019, Mr. Baghel had increased the assistance amount under the scheme from Rs. 15 thousand to Rs. 25 thousand. Now in the budget of 2023-24, this amount has been increased to 50 thousand rupees. Compared to the year 2019, the fixed budget amount has also been doubled to Rs 38 crore.
