From Governor to RCI Teachers’ union requested to appoint special teachers

Raipur, 13 January 2021.   RCI under the leadership of Smt. Gargi Pandey at Raj Bhavan today from Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike. Teachers’ Union Chhattisgarh delegation met courtesy and informed about their problems. The Governor said that many types of talents are also contained in the differently-abled. Sometimes they perform better than others. I have been involved in many programs of children with disabilities and also feel their feelings. A Divyang artist met me at Raj Bhavan recently. I was delighted to see his art. They have unprecedented merit. For the appointment of special teachers for the education of differently-abled children, I will direct them to take necessary action as per rules at the government level.
Mrs. Pandey told the Governor that after the implementation of Right to Education Act-2009, admissions are being given to differently-abled children in other government-funded schools, in which case the number of disabled students in the state is more than 06 lakh. For these, there is a provision for the appointment of trained teachers with special education degree and registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi, but the disabled children are facing problems due to the relatively low number of special teachers appointed in the state. The delegation has requested the Governor to direct the School Education Department and Social Welfare Department to recruit special teachers. Mrs. Monika Sahu, Mr. Sunil Sahu, Mr. Harish Kumar Sahu were present on the occasion.
