Chief Minister wished Panchayati Raj representatives on National Panchayati Raj Day
Raipur, 23 April 2023
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has wished the Panchayat Raj representatives of the state on National Panchayati Raj Day. The Chief Minister said in his message that National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated on 24 April in India as a symbol of the enactment of the 73rd amendment of the Constitution. This amendment act provided constitutional status to the Panchayati Raj Institutions for the establishment of democracy at the local level and entrusted them with the task of rural development in the country.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has said that former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi has fulfilled the dream of Gram Swaraj of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by giving constitutional rights and responsibilities to the Gram Panchayats. Panchayati Raj Institutions in Chhattisgarh have proved their leadership capability and participation at the grassroots level. In times of crisis, be it providing ration to the beneficiary families through Anganwadis and PDS or providing employment through MNREGA, the panchayats have worked step by step with the government in all these works. The stronger the Panchayati Raj institutions, the stronger will be the democracy.
