Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to India’s first woman Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Mrs. Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary on November 19. Recalling Mrs. Gandhi’s multidimensional personality and her contribution to the country, the Chief Minister said that Indira ji closely saw and participated in the national freedom movement from childhood in the context of her father Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. He established the Bal Charkha Sangh at an early age and participated during the Non -Cooperation Movement by forming the children’s monkey army. She was engaged for the upliftment of the poor and the weaker sections of the society. He sacrificed his life to protect the unity and integrity of the country. To increase harmony in the country and strengthen the spirit of unity, Mrs. Gandhi’s birthday is celebrated as Qaumi Ekta Day.
    Mr. Baghel has said that Mrs. Gandhi gave a new direction to the country with vision and determination. She took many tough decisions for the progress of the country, hence she is also known as Iron Lady. With his strong will, he ably led the country under challenging circumstances and brought laurels to India on the international stage. The success of his Green Revolution program made the country self-sufficient in food grain production. As Prime Minister, he took tough decisions like nationalization of banks, abolition of previpers of kings. The rise of Bangladesh, India becoming a nuclear power nation were his major achievements. During his tenure the Indian Space Research Organization was established and the first satellite Aryabhata was launched into space. The Chief Minister said that Indira ji’s work and her thoughts and values ​​will continue to inspire us all to serve the nation.
