Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, development of mineral areas in mineral-dominated Chhattisgarh state, better management of mineral areas and use of state-of-the-art technology in mineral administration, the state’s revenue from minerals is increasing progressively. The state government has received a record mineral revenue of Rs 12 thousand 941 crore from the mineral activities conducted in the state in the financial year 2022-23, which is Rs 636 crore more than the previous year.

According to the information received from Director, Geology and Mining Shri Jai Prakash Maurya, maximum revenue of Rs 3607 crore has been received from iron ore. The state mainly receives revenue from coal, iron ore, limestone and bauxite minerals. Revenue of Rs 3607 crore has been received from iron ore, Rs 3336 crore from mineral coal, Rs 392 crore from limestone and Rs 31 crore from bauxite.

Dantewada tops in the districts with maximum mineral revenue

Dantewada Rs 6419 crore, Korba Rs 2361 crore, Raigarh Rs 1717 crore, Balod Rs 760 crore, Balodabazar Rs 315 crore, Kanker Rs 286 crore and Surguja are the districts with maximum mineral revenue in the financial year 2022-23. Mineral revenue of Rs 262 crore has been received from the district. While the minerals obtained in the state are contributing to the development of infrastructure, production of electricity, and operation of industries in the state, mineral revenue is providing an important partnership in the financial development of the state.

For the first time, the state government got profit share from 02 limestone blocks through revenue sharing system, revenue of Rs. 52.52 lakhs.

According to the information received from the Joint Director of the Department Mr. Anurag Dewan, under the new policy of the government, in the year 2015-16 through e-auction, 02 main mineral limestone blocks namely Karhi Chandi, District Balodabazar-Bhatapara and Kesla, District Raipur were allotted in the year 2015-16. Production has started in 2022-23. With the said new system of allocation, where there was a transparent allotment of mines, on the other hand, with the revenue sharing system, the state government received revenue of Rs.
