Chief Minister participated in Bhumkal Memorial Day program

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has paid tribute to tribal leader Amar Shaheed Gundadhur by garlanding his photograph in Mundatoli development block of Kansabel village of Jashpur district today on Bhumkal Memorial Day. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the sacrifice of the people’s leader Veer Gundadhur, who started the rebellion against the British rule for the water, forests and land of the tribals, will always remain immortal in history.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Veer Gundadhur, the inspiration for thousands of tribals, sacrificed his life to liberate Bastar from the British rule. That’s why even today he is worshiped like a deity in Bastar. Every year on the occasion of Bhumkal Diwas on 10 February, he is remembered and paid tribute.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that martyr Gundadhur will always live in the public mind as a symbol of tribal consciousness. Bhumkal Diwas celebrated in his memory will always give us courage to raise our voice against exploitation. He said that the flame that immortal martyr Gundadhur has awakened in the minds of tribal people to protect their rights will always remain burning.
It is noteworthy that Gundadhur, who grew up in a small village in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, had troubled the British so much that the British had to hide in caves for some time. The revolutionary immortal martyr Gundadhur, who soured the teeth of the British, is still present in the hearts of the people. The personality and work of martyr Gundadhur, recorded in the pages of history, inspires all of us.
