Before the 2023 assembly general elections, the process of second special summary revision of electoral rolls is going on in the state. During this, door-to-door survey work is being done by BLO. New unregistered citizens in house-to-house survey for creation of pure and error-free voter list, The dead and permanently shifted voters are being identified. Form 6 of unregistered citizens of 18 years found in the survey will also be filled to add names to the voter list. During this, Form 8 will be filled for name deletion through Form 7 for dead or permanently transferred voters and for any amendment or transfer in voter’s details. This time, in the revision, the qualifying date has been fixed as October 1, 2023, that is, the names of all the citizens who have completed 18 years of age on or before this date can be added to the voter list. Voter Helpline App and Voter Service Portal are available for the general public to fill online form by the commission. BLO App will be used to fill the form by BLO. Interested citizens can also fill the form in hard copy and submit it to the BLO. BLO App will be used to fill the form by BLO. Interested citizens can also fill the form in hard copy and submit it to the BLO. BLO App will be used to fill the form by BLO. Interested citizens can also fill the form in hard copy and submit it to the BLO.

    According to the program issued by the Election Commission of India, the initial publication of the voter list will be done on August 2, 2023, and the final publication on October 4, 2023, in all the polling stations of the state and in the website of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. In the 30-day review period from August 2 to August 31, under an intensive campaign, extensive publicity and other awareness programs will be conducted to obtain forms in all the booths of the state. Special camps will also be organized on 12 and 13 August and 19 and 20 August 2023. The forms received in the revision will be resolved by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers by 22 September 2023, after which the final publication of the voter list will be done on 4 October 2023.

    Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that for transparency all recognized political parties can appoint their booth level agents who will provide necessary support to the ECs at the booth level in identifying new unregistered voters, dead and transferred voters. Regarding the above, a meeting of all the recognized political parties at the state and district level has been organized and they have been informed. He informed that after the roll published on January 5, a total of 1,96,671 new names have been added in the state so far in the continuous updation and as of today, a total of 1,95, 87, 994 voters are registered. In the revision, the number of voters will further increase after disposal of the applications whose eligibility date is 1st October. He has appealed to the common citizens of the state to make the voter list more pure and error-free by ensuring their maximum participation in the revision.
