Under the chairmanship of Labor Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, a meeting of the selection committee for awarding “Late Ramanuja Pratap Singhdev Smriti Shram Yashasvi Puraskar” was organized at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) in Nava Raipur here today. This award is given by the state government for innovative efforts and outstanding notable works in the field of labor and productivity enhancement. The selected person or institution will be honored with the late Ramanuja Pratap Singhdev Smriti Shram Yashasvi Award along with Rs 2 lakh and a citation on the occasion of Rajyotsav on November 01.
It is worth mentioning that the selection of a person or organization for the award is done on the basis of several criteria. It is taken care of by the selection committee that special effective measures have been taken by the industrial organization in the direction of safety and health of the workers, as a result of which no serious accident has taken place. Along with this, the safety rules should have been widely publicised, due to which the name of the state has been glorified in the labor world. Along with this, commendable work and remarkable contribution in the field of industrial safety and health including contribution in the labor sector, punctuality, reduction in production cost, saving energy, maintaining cordial industrial relations are taken into consideration for the selection.
Labor Department Secretary Mr. Amrit Kumar Khalkho, non-official member Mr. Ghanshyam Manhar (employers’ organization representative), Mr. Rajesh Dhurandhar (workers’ organization representative) and representatives of Finance Department as well as senior officials of Labor Department were present in the meeting.
