Terracotta artisans made innovations, 24-hour burning will continue

Raipur, 04 February 2021. On the special initiative of Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar, the craftsmen of terracotta crafts have prepared a magic lamp under village industry. Minister Guru Rudrakumar has said that people of all castes and religions light a lamp on various occasions including worship of their deities. This magic lamp, which burns continuously for more than 24 hours, will increase faith and confidence. He said that the craftsmen of Terracotta have created exquisite artifacts during the Corona Transition period, expressing their expression through craft, which is a commendable compliment. Minister Guru Rudrakumar lauded the activities conducted in the village industry and said that village industry has become the basis of livelihood of the villagers and has played an important role in strengthening the rural economy. Departmental officers and all craftsmen are eligible for this.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has launched a craft town during his stay in Kondagaon. He also became acquainted with the process of preparing the magic lamp in the craft city. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has also appreciated the magic diyas. General Manager of Handicrafts Development Board, Mr. S.L. Watti said that this magic diy has been prepared by Mr. Ashok Chakradhari, associated with the State Award Terracotta Craft of Kondagaon. He told that the magic lamp is made in two parts, it is reversed by filling the oil in the upper part of the lamp. The filled oil in the upper part slowly leaks into the lower part of the lamp, in this way the oil supply in the lamp is constant and the lamp keeps on burning for 24 hours.
