Raipur, 18 September 2021. October 4 is the last date for submission of applications for admission to class 9th in the academic session 2021-22 in state-run Prayas residential schools. For admission in these schools, meritorious students who have passed class VIII can submit the application form to the Assistant Commissioner Tribal Development Office of the concerned district till October 4. Log enrolled in residential schools will be through examination.
A total of 1155 students are to be admitted in class 9th in Prayas residential school, in which 650 boys and 505 girls will be admitted. Affected by Naxal violence, eligible children of the victim’s family will be eligible for direct admission in the institution. The preliminary examination for admission to these residential schools will be conducted on October 10.
According to the Late Rajiv Gandhi Bal Bhavishya Suraksha Prayas Residential School, Revised Rules-2020, along with excellent and quality school education of talented students who have passed class 8th from the tribal sub-plan area and schools of Naxal-affected/affected areas of the state, state and national level competitive examinations. These schools have been established to enable them to succeed in the entrance examinations related to Engineering, Medical, CA, CS and CLAT etc. At present there are 9 residential schools in the state – Boys-200 seats in Saddu in Raipur, Girls-155 seats in Gudhiyari Raipur, 75 seats for boys and 50 for girls out of 125 seats in Bilaspur, Durg, Bastar and Ambikapur. . Similarly, in Kanker, Korba and Jashpur out of 100 seats each, there are 50-50 seats for boys and girls.
