Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated a high level bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 96.62 lakh under Public Works Setu Division, Raipur at Sonakhan in Kasdol block on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh. With the construction of this 225-metre-long high-level bridge across the Janek river under the Banglapali-Maharaji road, people of Sonakhan area will have access to many nearby villages including Giroudpuri, Madwa, Gidhauri, Shivrinarayan, Katgi, Amodi. At the same time, a large number of people also visit Sonakhan, the birth place of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh. With the construction of a high level bridge, the visitors to Sonakhan will also get a lot of convenience. A small slide is built in the Leech river near Maharajji, but with the rains, water flows over this slide, Due to which the traffic stops. Ramlal of Giroud told that earlier one had to go through the village Arjuni to reach Sonakhan. Now with the construction of a new bridge, many nearby villages including Banglapali, Mehkam, Sonakhan can be easily reached by traveling a short distance. Villagers told that passing through the bridge built in village Arjuni Marg had to travel about 12 to 15 km more, now the traffic has become convenient through the new bridge.
