Raipur, 5 August 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the state government’s goal is to restore the old glory of the village by making agriculture strong and giving work to every hand. He said that steps like Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana have been taken to strengthen the rural economy. Shri Baghel was addressing the virtual program of the newly appointed office bearers of Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council from his residence office here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister paid homage to the martyr Mahendra Karma, remembering him on his birth anniversary.
Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Shri Girish Devangan, Cooperative Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Food Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Krishak Kalyan Parishad Shri Surendra Sharma, in the program. Mahant Shri Ramsunder Das, Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission, Shri Agni Chandrakar, Chairman, Chhattisgarh Seed Development Corporation and Shri Gyanesh Sharma, Chairman, Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission, were present in the office of the Seed Corporation. In the program, the Vice President of the Farmers Welfare Council, Mr. Mahendra Chandrakar, members Mr. Basant Tati, Nagendra Negi, Sanjay Gupta, Bhagwan Patel, Jankiram Sethia, Nand Kumar Patel, Dehraram Sahu, Khamman Patel, Jagdish Deepak, Sharad Yadav, Shravan Chandrakar, Chunni Lal Verma and Mrs. Shashi Gaur took over.
Congratulating and congratulating all the newly appointed office bearers of the council, the Chief Minister entrusted them with the responsibility of making the Gauthans more active, providing information about the schemes of the state government to every farmer. He said that the officers of the council should celebrate the festival of Hareli by visiting the Gauthans. Apart from this, whenever they go on a visit to the village, meet in the Gothans and review the activities there and make them aware of the suggestions in this regard. He said that the Gauthans should be associated with different activities and also see whether Napier grass has been planted in the Gauthans and whether there is a system of fodder and water for the cattle.
The Chief Minister said that before the British, our villages were centers of production. The city served as a trading center. During the time of the British, big factories were established in the cities, due to which the centers of production and commerce became cities instead of villages. He said that the State Government is making every effort to strengthen the rural economy. Villagers and youth are being connected with productive activities through Rural Industrial Park under Suraji Gaon Yojana. In order to strengthen agriculture, an initiative has been taken to waive loans of farmers and get better price for their produce. Forest dwellers are getting Rs 4000 per standard bag for collection of tendu leaves. Due to this the economic condition of the people of the village is getting stronger.
He said that farmers of remote areas and collectors of forest produce are also getting the benefits of the schemes of the state government. Money is going into their pockets and its effect is visible in business as well. It is proof that in Bijapur district where one tractor was sold in the year 2018, after the same loan waiver and purchase of paddy at Rs 25 hundred per quintal, sale of 73 tractors and 1235 motor cycles and one commercial tractor in Bijapur district in the year 2019-20 Hui . In the next year, 60 tractors and 1998 motorcycles have been sold in this district and in the third year 133 tractors, 968 motorcycles have been sold so far. These include the sale of 11 commercial tractors.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that development of agriculture is the basic basis of development of Chhattisgarh. The state government’s schemes brought money to the pockets of the farmers and the markets were buzzing. While there was a slowdown in the country’s economy at the time of the lockdown, other activities, including farming, continued in Chhattisgarh. He has said that the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of the Chief Minister is working for the economic progress of agriculture and farmers as well as the poor. A revolutionary initiative has also been taken in this direction to implement the Rajiv Gandhi Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana. Provisions have also been made for this scheme in the budget.
