In the newly formed border district of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, located in the north-west of Chhattisgarh, the effort to add color to the colorless life of nomadic and garbage pickers and to brighten their bleak future is now slowly taking off. Under the ‘Bal Jatan Abhiyan’ run by the district administration on the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, arrangements for the education and initiation of three children have been ensured by enrolling them in schools. Collector Mr. P.S. Dhruv told that for the last 20 days, 10 more children have been found in the survey of nomadic and garbage pickers under this campaign in the district, whose admission will be done on December 15 in the schools near their residence. Preparations have been completed regarding this. The district administration has made arrangements for book-copies, bags, uniforms and other necessary materials for these children.

It is worth mentioning that under the guidance of Collector Shri P.S.Dhruv, ‘Bal Jatan Abhiyan’ has been started from last 19th November to connect the children of nomads and waste pickers with education in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. Under this campaign, 10-year-old Prince Panika and Kumari Tanisha have been admitted in class IV and 11-year-old boy Kanha Kumar Kaushik in class V in government primary school Barabazar, all three are residents of Ward No. 19 Tikrapara Chirmiri. Collector Mr. P.S. Dhruv accidentally reached Badabazar primary school located in Chirmiri today to know about the condition of education of the three children admitted under Bal Jatan Abhiyan. He interacted with the children and advised them to attend school regularly. The collector asked Prince Panika his name in English, To which he replied without hesitation – ‘My name is Prince Panika’. The collector expressed happiness over this and while praising him, presented a pen to Prince Panika as a gift.

The collector said that under this campaign, a total of 13 nomadic and rag picker children have been surveyed so far, out of which three have been enrolled. Now on December 15, admission of Kumari Muskaan, Kumari Arya, Shiva, Prince, Kumari Neetu, Kumari Aarti, Kumari Manisha etc. will be done. These children have been advised to contact their parents and send them to school for a better future. He said that the children admitted in the schools are being monitored. One day a week, the officials are also preparing evaluation charts after taking information about the studies of these children.
