Raipur, 22 July 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the government of Chhattisgarh is the government of farmers. His government has entrusted the responsibility of making agriculture prosperous in the state and the welfare and prosperity of the farmers to the sons of farmers and experienced people associated with agriculture for years. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the farmer brothers of the state would get its benefit. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the office of Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation’s newly appointed Chairman Mr. Agni Chandrakar, members Mr. Jalam Singh Patel, Mr. Dilip Pandey and Mr. Shankar Baghel virtually from his residence today. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu were present on this occasion.
Congratulating the newly appointed chairman and members of the Seed Corporation on this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that a lot of work is needed for the betterment of agriculture and farmers in the state. Along with the cultivation of paddy, the government is promoting the cultivation of other crops, horticulture and plantation. He said that along with paddy, good quality seeds of other crops should be produced in the state, farmers should come forward for the cultivation of profitable crops, we all need to make this effort. He appreciated the work of Sarv Shri Agni Chandrakar, Shri Jalam Singh Patel, Shri Shankar Baghel and Chairman of Welfare Board Shri Surendra Sharma for the betterment of agriculture and farmers and said that farmers of Chhattisgarh would get benefit of their experience.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state. The all-round development of the state and the prosperity of the villages depend on agriculture. He said that due to the farmer friendly policies and programs of the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, bumper crop production has started in the state. It will increase further in the coming years. He said that it is the responsibility of the State Seed Corporation to supply improved quality seeds to the farmers as per their demand. He said that the state of Chhattisgarh should become completely self-sufficient in terms of seed production. This should be our priority. The newly appointed President Shri Agni Chandrakar also addressed the program and said that his new team would take forward the work being done by the Chhattisgarh government with full responsibility for the betterment of the farmers. He said that in the matter of supply of seeds and other agricultural related materials, farmers should have faith in the Seed Corporation, this would be our priority. On this occasion, Chairman of Farmers Welfare Board Mr. Surendra Sharma, Mr. Laxman Patel, Mrs. Rashmi Chandrakar, Mrs. Usha Patel and other farmers’ representatives were present.
