Information on the working of the Finance Commission was given by interacting with the students

A delegation of members led by the Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission, Shri Arvind Panagariya, visited the library of the Nalanda campus late at night. Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary was also present with the delegation.
On this occasion, other members Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh, Mrs. Annie Jarch Mathew, Finance Commission Secretary Mr. Ritwik Pandey were also present along with Mr. Panagariya. Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and other officials welcomed them by giving them rose flowers and Vivekananda literature. The delegation enquired about the working system of the library, seating arrangement for students, arrangement for issuing books, security arrangements, admission process and fees. Mr. Panagariya praised the Nalanda campus and said that it is a very good thing that the library of Nalanda campus has a favorable environment and very good facilities for students to study. In such an environment, students are studying with full concentration even at such a late hour. There are various types of arrangements for them which will help them in achieving their goals. Efforts should be made to implement such a model at other places. He interacted with the students studying. The students asked him questions related to the commission. Mr. Panagariya and other members gave information about the working system of the Finance Commission.
Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh told the members of the commission that membership is provided here at a fee of Rs. 500. Books are purchased here from time to time based on the demand of the students and the books which are in high demand are purchased in large numbers so that more and more members can study. There is a facility for students to study 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Apart from the library, seating arrangements have been made outside as well. Dr Singh also showed the delegation the ground floor, first floor and roof top of the library and told that due to long waiting here, seating arrangements will be made on the roof top in future.
Signal was given for taking books without issuing them, members observed this arrangement
Regarding the library, the officials informed that RFID system has been implemented here. In which a chip has been put in the ID card. The chip ID is scanned while issuing a book. If a book is taken away without being issued, a signal is played which informs the management. This was shown to the delegation on a practical basis. As soon as the Indian Polity was taken out without being issued, the signal was played. The members expressed happiness over this.
