Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on World Environment Day. In his message, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has said that we celebrate World Environment Day on June 5 every year. The day inspires to further enhance the harmony between humans and nature. Due to the uncontrolled exploitation of nature, a crisis is arising for the environment as well as life. Now the time has come that in order to save our existence, we should think seriously and work more towards saving the environment, otherwise it will be difficult for the coming generations to get clean air.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that it is a matter of pride and happiness that in the last four and a half years, Chhattisgarh has made itself known as the cleanest state in the country. This is the first state in the country to constitute Harit Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh is very conscious and serious about environmental protection. The state government has taken several steps towards environment protection. To save the forests, continuous tree plantation campaign is being conducted. Farmers are being encouraged for this by including tree plantation in the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Trees have been planted on a large scale on the banks of rivers, in forests and Gothans. Initiative has been taken to develop Krishna-Kunj to make tree plantation a mass campaign in urban areas. Mr. Baghel has said that Suraji village scheme is being implemented to preserve the fertility of the earth and the ground water level. Through Godhan Nyaya Yojana, organic farming is being promoted by making vermicompost in Gauthans. Due to this, instead of chemical farming, people have started adopting organic farming on a large scale. People have started getting nutritious food from organic farming and the quality of the soil is also being preserved.
The Chief Minister said that Narva development work is being done to conserve natural water sources and drains, due to which the ground water level has increased. The authority has been constituted to preserve rivers like Arpa and Indravati. Sewerage treatment plants are being set up in the cities so that polluted water reaches the rivers after getting purified. An online system has been created to monitor the industries. The stubble is no longer burnt in the state but is used as fodder. Open burning of solid waste is prohibited. Many innovations have been done by setting up Biodiversity Board for the protection of biodiversity.
The Chief Minister said that along with saving trees from cutting, we should make people aware to plant more and more trees. So that we can contribute in building pollution free healthy Chhattisgarh and healthy India.
