Raipur: The Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the enumeration of Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections.

Raipur 19 July 2021.  Preparations have been started for the enumeration of Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the preparations for enumeration of Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections in a meeting held at his residence office here today. It is noteworthy that a one-member Quantitative Data Commission has been constituted by the State Government under the chairmanship of retired District and Sessions Judge Shri CL Patel for this calculation.
During the review, the Chief Minister said that the Commission should hold a meeting with the social organizations in the divisional headquarters and discuss with them regarding this calculation and their suggestions should also be taken. It is worth mentioning that through an ordinance on September 4, 2019, the reservation of Other Backward Classes in the state was increased from 14 percent to 27 percent and a provision of 10 percent reservation was made for the economically weaker sections. While staying the implementation of these provisions by the High Court, the state government has been directed to submit quantifiable data. In this context, the State Government has constituted a Quantifiable Data Commission.
Portal www.cgqdc.in and mobile app have been prepared by CHIP to collect quantifiable data by surveying other backward classes and economically weaker sections. On which the Chief Executive Officer of Chips, Mr. Sameer Vishnoi made a presentation.
Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology Department Shri Subrata Sahu, Secretary General Administration Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary, Finance Department, Mrs. Alarmelmangai D. and Secretary, Quantitative Data Commission, Mr. B.C. Sahu were present in the meeting. Advocate General Shri Satishchandra Verma attended the meeting virtually.
