Raipur: The Chief Minister paid tribute to Dau Dular Singh Mandraji, the father of dance in Chhattisgarh, on his birth anniversary.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to late Dau Dular Singh Mandraji, considered the father of folk art ‘Nacha’, on his birth anniversary on April 1. Recalling the invaluable contribution of Dau ji in the preservation of Chhattisgarhi folk art, Mr. Baghel said that Dau Mandraji dedicated his entire life to revive and preserve ‘Nacha’. He made dance a medium to create awareness about social evils. Mr. Baghel said that Dauji played an important role in organizing the folk artists and establishing Chhattisgarhi Nacha-Gammat on the world stage. Dau Dular Singh Mandraji Samman is given by the state government to honor such a true seeker of art and to keep dance art intact. The Chief Minister has said that the personality of folk artist Dau Dular Singh Mandraji, who restored dance art among the people, will continue to inspire many generations to come.
