Foundation Day of the states of Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim celebrated with enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan

The Foundation Day of the states of Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim was celebrated with enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan today. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan said that the bond of unity and brotherhood among us promotes an environment of harmony transcending geographical boundaries. The presence of people from different states has infused new ideas, outlook and skills in the economic and social scenario of Chhattisgarh.
All the states are celebrating each other’s foundation day to promote the spirit of unity in diversity under the “Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat” program of the Central Government, launched on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this episode, this program was organized at Raj Bhavan. In which the people of Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim states residing in Chhattisgarh participated with enthusiasm. The Governor congratulated everyone on the occasion of Foundation Day.
In the program, Governor Mr. Vishwabhushan Harichandan said that it is a great privilege to stand in front of the people of these states who call Chhattisgarh their home and express gratitude for their immense contribution. We are proud to have people from Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim among us, who are enriching our lives and contributing to the upliftment and development of Chhattisgarh. They have enriched the cultural heritage here and given impetus to its progress.
He said that the agricultural knowledge and skills of the people of Odisha have contributed to the advancement of agricultural practices in Chhattisgarh, while their experience in mining has helped in the development of the mining industry in the state. In addition, the citizens of Odisha have enriched the cultural diversity of Chhattisgarh with their unique festivals, dance forms and handicrafts.
The Governor said that the citizens of Himachal have also played an important role in the development of sectors like tourism, horticulture and education in Chhattisgarh. His expertise in promoting sustainable tourism has led to the development of the tourism industry in the state. Furthermore, his knowledge in horticulture helped in agricultural methods, while his contribution in the field of education has empowered the youth of Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Harichandan said that the citizens of the state of Sikkim share their traditions, which include their distinctive art forms, music and cuisine. Which has given a living touch to the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. They have not only contributed to the state’s economy but have also promoted social integration and cultural exchange.
Children and youth of all the three states present in the program presented cultural programs based on their state’s culture and folk tradition. Odissi dance of Odisha state, Nati dance of Himachal, Maruni dance of Sikkim, Vande Utkal Janani dance spread their traditional shade.
The representatives of the three states Mr. Purandar Mishra, Mr. Vivek Acharya, and Mrs. Sangeeta Madan felicitated the Governor on behalf of their state. The Governor also honored persons and meritorious students of these states who have done special work.
Padmashree Bharti brothers, retired Indian Administrative Service officers Shri M.K. Rawat, Mr. P.C. Dalai, Mr.S. Of. Mishra, retired Lt. Col. Shri D.K.K Verma, litterateur Dr. Chittaranjan Kar, social worker Mr. Arun Panda and other distinguished people were honored.
Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Secretary to the Governor Mr. Amrit Khalkho, Deputy Secretary Mr. Deepak Agarwal, children, youth, women and dignitaries residing in Chhattisgarh of the three states were present in large numbers.
