It is worth mentioning that as per the intention of the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, as a result of the important decision taken by the State Government in the interest of the forest dwellers, the amount of Rs. 502 crore 49 lakh is to be paid to the tendu patta collectors in the state only in the two months of May and June. According to the information received from the State Minor Forest Produce Association, this year the five forest divisions collecting the maximum tendu leaves include East Bhanupratappur, Balrampur, Sukma, Bijapur and West Bhanupratappur. Of these, 91 thousand 320 standard bags of tendu leaves worth Rs 36 crore 53 lakh have been collected under the former Bhanupratappur forest division. After this, 90 thousand 526 standard bags worth Rs 36 crore 21 lakh have been collected under Balrampur forest division and 75 thousand 914 standard bags of tendu leaves worth Rs 30 crore 37 lakh under Sukma forest division. 75 thousand 395 standard bags worth Rs 30 crore 16 lakh have been collected under Bijapur forest division and 75 thousand 120 standard bags of tendu leaves worth Rs 30 crore 5 lakh under West Bhanupratappur forest division.
