Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended a virtual meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda to review the progress of ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’. He gave detailed information about the work being done for screening, treatment and diagnosis of TB patients in Chhattisgarh under the campaign launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India TB free by the year 2025. Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Health Dr. Priyanka Shukla and Managing Director of National Health Mission Shri Vijay Dayaram K. were present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that TB Free India Campaign is being conducted with full alertness in Chhattisgarh. After the start of the campaign on 7th December, till now 11 lakh 23 thousand 924 people have been screened. The Chief Minister informed that under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana in the state, an amount of Rs. 1000 is being paid for nutritional food in the bank accounts of TB patients. So far 10,447 Nikshay Mitras have been registered in the state to provide nutritional food to TB patients. In a remote district like Sukma, all 66 Community Health Officers are registered as Nikshay Mitras.
Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that in the Tokapal area of Bastar region, health workers are widely publicizing the campaign through songs and music in the local dialect Halbi. 963 Nishchay camps have been organized under the campaign.
The Chief Minister said that as per the instructions of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the targets of the campaign will be achieved in the stipulated time. Participation of the private sector is also being ensured in the campaign, so that TB patients can get better facilities. Under the participation of the private sector and public participation, 2 handheld X-ray machines and 2 True-Not machines by Malbao Diagnostics are being used in mobile units. This vehicle is being used as a Nikshay vehicle.
