DGP chairs meeting of Inspector Generals and Superintendents of Police via video conferencing.
Raipur, 5 October 2020. Director General of Police Mr. DM Awasthi today chaired a meeting of all Inspector Generals and Superintendents of Police via video conferencing. He reviewed the cases related to women.
DGP Mr. Awasthi directed all the SPs to take immediate action in women-related cases. He strictly directed that no negligence should be tolerated in this regard. Only DSP level officers should be appointed for departmental investigation of the cases related to women. He said that such cases should not be given to inspectors, sub-inspectors, constables. He directed the officials to chalk out district-wise mechanism for controlling crime against women, so as to reviewe incidents as soon as possible. He said that action in cases of crime against women should be taken compulsorily and immediately.
Mr. Awasthi directed IGs and SPs to take strict action in cases of crimes related to illegal liquor, drugs, hukka bar, marijuana etc. He gave instructions that if complaint is received against any police personnel, he/she should be immediately suspended and departmental investigation should be conducted in the case.
