Raipur, 06 October 2020. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that Swami Atmanand gave the message of service to the suffering humanity. He realized the spirit of Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa on the ground with his actions. Mr. Baghel said that Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa contributed significantly in the propagation of the Bhavadhara. Swami Vivekananda, a disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, spread Ramakrishna Bhavadhara throughout the country and built many monasteries. After Swami Vivekananda, Swami Atmanand built the most ashrams and monasteries. The Chief Minister was addressing the Swami Atmanand Jayanti function held at Patan Tehsil headquarters in Durg district today through video conferencing. Earlier, Mr. Baghel garnered a portrait of Swami Atmanand at his residence office and launched the program paying him a humble tribute.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel announced to start the Dharsa Development Scheme soon. With this plan, the raw road to Dharsa in the villages will be strengthened. He said that a committee of secretaries of the Panchayat, Revenue and Public Works Department will be formed to prepare the Dharsa construction plan. Similarly, he announced the operation of English medium schools being opened in the state under the Swami Atmanand English Medium School Scheme. He has said that the schools that have been named after great men. The names of those schools will be kept as they are. The Chief Minister said that Swami Vivekananda spent the most time in Raipur after Kolkata. During his stay in Raipur, the building in which he stayed will be built with an international level memorial in memory of Swami Vivekananda. The Chief Minister said that Swami Atmanand worked to bring down the basic mantra of serving the living organism, the service of Daridra Narayan with the Shiva sentiment of Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Swami Atmanand had given this message that service to the suffering humanity is the biggest religion. Therefore, he had taken the step to spend the money collected to establish the monastery and ashram in the service of the famine victims. He spent the money collected for relief work for the famine-affected poor. He did public welfare works like well at Ameri, pond at Achanpur. He introduced nutritious food for pregnant mothers during the famine so that the child is not malnourished.
Mr. Baghel said that we see Swami Atmanand as a social reformer and educationist. He built his Raipur Ashram and an excellent library. He was also interested in sports. He also contributed to the promotion of Panchayati Raj institutions. For the second time, the amount collected for building the ashram was also given to the refugees who came from Bangladesh during the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971 in Pakhtur in Bastar Spent to settle in Mana and Dharamjaigarh camp of Raipur. Swami Atmanand considered the service of humanity to be the greatest religion. He presented examples of this to us. He believed that the work of service can be done first, then the temple construction can be done later. On the request of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, she established an ashram for the education of tribal children in Abujhmad in Narayanpur. He made arrangements for health and purchase and sale of crops here. Swami Atmanand played an important role in establishing ashrams and monasteries at various places including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the State Government has started the Chief Minister Suchitran Yojana on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 02 October 2019, following the footprints of Swami Atmanand. So far, 13.77 percent children have been brought out of the purview of malnutrition. Swami Atmanand ji also did remarkable work in the field of health. The ashram established by him has Ayurvedic, Allopathic, Ambulance was also arranged along with homeopathic medicine. To further their work, the State Government launched Haat Bazar Clinic Scheme and Mukhyamantri Urban Slum Health Scheme. In Patan’s program, the officials of Chhattisgarh Manwa Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj were honored by the officials of Sarvajamaj. On this occasion, a video film centered on Swami Atmanand and video film was produced at Swami Atmanand Garden and Atmanand Chowk in Patan. Officers and citizens of various societies were present on this occasion including Sarvashri Sitaram Verma, Shri Mehtar Ram Varma, Shri Ashwani Sahu.
