Raipur : Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023 : Chhattisgarh bags ‘Third Cleanest State’ award, Chief Minister calls it ‘a proud moment for the state’

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated and extended his best wishes to the people of Chhattisgarh for bagging the third cleanest state award on Thursday. Describing it as a historic day for the state, he expressed immense pride in Chhattisgarh’s achievement as the third cleanest state in the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023 conducted by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Addressing the media persons at the Raipur airport late on Thursday after returning from New Delhi, Chief Minister Shri Sai conveyed his gratitude to the people of the state, sanitation workers, ‘Swacchta Mitrs,’ and ‘Swacchta Didis.’ He also extended congratulations and best wishes to the Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh for their significant role in achieving this distinction.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Development Minister Shri Arun Sao, received the award for Chhattisgarh as the third cleanest state from the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, in New Delhi. The ceremony also acknowledged the outstanding performance of five urban bodies in the state—Raipur, Mahasamund, Kumhari, Arang, and Patan. Chief Minister Shri Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao also received the award for Patan Municipal Corporation’s excellent performance in the cleanliness survey from the President Smt. Murmu.

Besides, Union Housing and Urban Development Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri presented awards to the four civic bodies of Chhattisgarh—Raipur, Mahasamund, Kumhari, and Arang—recognizing their remarkable achievements in maintaining cleanliness standards.
