Raipur, 21 January 2022. Under the guidance of Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudrakumar, pure drinking water is being supplied rapidly under the Jal Jeevan Mission in rural areas of the state. Minister Guru Rudrakumar has given instructions to the officers for better implementation of the works carried out under the Jal Jeevan Mission. In compliance of which, Korba Collector Smt. Ranu Sahu today took a meeting of District Water and Sanitation Mission constituted under Jal Jeevan Mission through video conferencing.
In the meeting, Collector Mrs. Sahu inquired about retrofitting, online tenders, status of tenders, testing of water samples from every household tap through pipeline and water samples from drinking water sources etc. under Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that the objective of Jal Jeevan Mission is to provide clean drinking water through taps to every household. All the schools, Anganwadi, In order to provide clean drinking water in villages including hospitals, instructions were given to complete the work of tap connection within the time limit. Collector Mrs. Sahu said that various works are being done to provide clean drinking water to the people. All these works should be completed with quality within the stipulated period. He also inquired about the operation and maintenance of the works being done under Jal Jeevan Mission. During the meeting, administrative approval for various works under Jal Jeevan Mission was approved. Apart from this, approval was also given for pipe line and domestic tap connection work in solar based water supply schemes. On this occasion, EE of Public Health Engineering, Mr. Anil Kumar informed that under Jal Jeevan Mission, pumps, water tanks, pipe lines to provide drinking water in one thousand 302 schools, 875 Anganwadi centers, 135 health centers and 143 ashrams of the district. And the plumbing work has been completed. He said that the remaining works under the Jal Jeevan Mission are being done expeditiously. He informed that field test kits have been made available for water quality testing in 412 gram panchayats of the district. With the availability of the kit, the quality of water in rural areas is being easily checked. Approval has been given for 22 single village tap-water schemes, 20 solar based mini tap water schemes and one retrofitting scheme. Glassware required to develop Katghora subdivision laboratory as per NABL norms, Administrative approval was also approved for chemicals and equipment etc. He said that under Jal Jeevan Mission, work orders have been issued for total 35 schemes under Ekal Gram Nal-Jal Supply Scheme. Under this, 11 thousand 468 domestic tap connections have been approved. Similarly, work orders have been issued for 38 schemes under Retrofitting Naljal Supply Scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission. Under this, 19 thousand 879 domestic tap connections have been approved.
