The School Education Department has made complete arrangements to provide free textbooks to all the students on the first day of the academic session 2023-24. For this, books from the Depot of Textbook Corporation have been supplied to high schools and complexes for distribution to the students of classes 1 to 10 of government, recognized and private schools.
According to the information received from the Education Department, the new education session in the state will start from June 16. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, free books and uniforms are to be distributed ceremonially on the opening day of the academic session itself. Keeping this in mind, the Education Department has sent the printed books to the depots of the districts and from there to the high schools and complexes. So far books have been sent to 4572 out of 4615 high schools of the state for distribution to the students. Similarly, out of 5703 packages of the state, books have been delivered to the students of primary and secondary schools in 3175 packages. Books are also being sent to Swami Atmanand Utkrisht Vidyalaya as per the demand. So far, books have been sent to students in 369 out of 432 Atmanand schools.
Books have been delivered to 1523 out of 1559 high schools, 705 out of 1714 clusters and 88 out of 143 Swami Atmanand excellent schools from Raipur Depot for free textbook distribution. Books for all 881 high schools from Bilaspur depot, 952 out of 961 packages and 72 out of 73 Swami Atmanand excellent schools have reached for distribution. From Jagdalpur depot, books have reached all 523 high schools, 459 out of 874 packages and 73 out of 74 Swami Atmanand excellent schools for distribution.
From Ambikapur depot, books have reached all 581 high schools, 432 out of 882 packages and all 61 Swami Atmanand excellent schools for distribution. Books have been delivered to all 428 high schools from Raigad depot, while books have been delivered to 191 out of 620 packages and all 40 Atmanand schools. Similarly, 636 out of 642 high schools, 436 out of 652 cluster centers and 38 out of 41 Swami Atmanand excellent schools have reached for distribution from Rajnandgaon depot. The process of delivering books to the remaining high schools and cluster centers is going on.
