Raipur: Students of Chhattisgarh discovered asteroid

Raipur, 19 February 2022. The students of Chhattisgarh have also raised their flag in the field of astronomy. He took part in the International Asteroid Search Campaign in partnership with NASA and discovered the asteroid. These are named as ASM0123, ASM0104. This achievement has been achieved by the students of Swami Atmanand Government English School, Mungeli, for which the teachers of the institution have given best wishes. 
The students of Swami Atmanand Government English School, Mungeli, Mungeli district, are working in the field of astrophysigs along with their routine studies. School lecturer Ms. Parul Ojha and Higher Secondary class Aryan Kujur, Pranjal Srivastava Sameer Banjare etc. group of students participated in Asteroid Search Campaign, an international competition in the field of astronomy. In this competition, a special campaign is run to search for asteroids found in space. An asteroid has been discovered by the student in this international level campaign. 
It may be mentioned that the Ignite Asteroid Search Campaign is a citizen science program to provide students with high quality astronomical data. This is a world class scheme in which efforts are being made to involve more and more people. Under this, pictures are taken by telescope, in which the children are given four pictures in the set to work on. In this, students have to search for moving objects with the help of astronomical software. After that the properties like signal to noise ratio, direction of motion etc. have to be checked. Asteroid is given a name when everything is correct. There is also a way to name a name. In which there are first three alphabets and four numbers. In the field of physics, new steroids are discovered through the Asteroid Search Campaign.
