Chief Minister reviews current status of COVID-19 infection in the state, in a high-level meeting held today
Proper arrangements should be made for COVID test at the inter-state borders, especially Maharashtra border
Raipur, 24 February 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has directed to strictly follow all the vigilant measures for prevention and containment of corona infection in the state. Addressing the high-level meeting held in his office today, Mr. Baghel said that strict compliance to the guidelines for prevention of COVID-19 should be ensured. Chief Minister said that there has been a sharp rise in number of COVID cases in various cities of Maharashtra including Delhi, Mumbai, hence Collectors of all the districts should be alerted and directed to ensure testing arrangements at the airport and the inter-state borders, especially at Maharashtra border. Arrangements for COVID test should also be made in hospitals and fine should be imposed on those who do not wear masks in public places. Chief Minister further said that frequent announcements should be made at public places, asking people to wear masks, observe physical distance and wash hands from time to time. Chief Minister has also direcetd the officials concerned to arrange for temperature check in public places. By ensuring compliance to these preventive measures, we have succeeded in containment of COVID infection to a great extent, and now in future as well, we would successfully prevent and contain corona infection by ensuring strict compliance to the preventive measures.
In the meeting, Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdev, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Mrs. Renu G. Pillay, Director of National Health Mission Dr. Priyanka Shukla, Director Health Mr. Neeraj Bansod and Deputy Secretary in Chief Minister Secretariat Ms. Soumya Chaurasia were also present. Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdev said that screening of passengers arriving at the airport has already started. He said that number of COVID cases have been found in Durg, Rajnandgaon and Raipur.
