The collector himself started the painting of the collectorate building
The Chief Minister appreciated the production of natural paint from cow dung in Balod district.

The collectorate building of Balod is the first collectorate in the state, which is being painted with natural paint made from cow dung. Collector Mr. Kuldeep Sharma did Shri Ganesh of the painting work of the Collectorate building by painting himself in the morning on February 27. It may be noted that as per the wish of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, instructions have been issued by the government to paint government buildings in the state with natural paint made from cow dung by women groups in Gauthans. Along with the inclusion of natural paint in the SOR by the Public Works Department, the departmental officers have been instructed to paint the buildings with natural paint made from cow dung.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has expressed happiness over painting government buildings in the state with natural paint made from cow dung. He has said that apart from promoting innovation in the production of natural paint from cow dung in the state, women self-help groups engaged in this work will also benefit. Natural paint is cheaper and eco-friendly as compared to chemical made paint and distemper of multinational companies in the market. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, during his stay in Balod district on February 19, had also appreciated the establishment of natural paint manufacturing units and paint-distemper production in Gauthans of the district. It may be noted that during this period, the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj dedicated by the Chief Minister in Parasatrai village of Gundardehi development block was painted with cow dung paint made in the district.
As per the instructions of the state government in Balod district, all the government offices, buildings, schools, anganwadi centers etc. are being painted with natural paint. Buildings under the department are being painted by purchasing natural paint and distemper made from cow dung from the natural paint unit established in Adarsh Gauthan Barhi of Balod development block. The Public Works Department has so far purchased natural paint and distemper worth Rs 1 lakh 62 thousand for painting the newly constructed buildings. Deputy Director Veterinary Services Dr. D.K. Shivhare informed that 180 liters of natural paint has been purchased in Gram Panchayat Sorar under development block Gurur. 28 liters of natural paint has been purchased in Gram Panchayat Parasatrai of Gundardehi development block. Apart from this, natural paint and distemper are being procured continuously by other departments for painting their departmental offices and buildings. So far 25 thousand liters of natural paint has been demanded by the departments in the district.
Presently white, yellow, green, pink colored paints are being produced from cow dung in Gauthan Barhi of Balod development block, as well as other colored paints are also being produced on special order.
