Raipur 12 August 2021. The first meeting of the Task Force on Rural Development and Management constituted by the State Planning Commission was held at Yojna Bhawan, Nava Raipur, here today. Adviser to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Task Force Shri Pradeep Sharma attended the meeting virtually. Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri R. In the presence of Prasanna, expert members of various subjects presented their important suggestions based on rural development and management. In the meeting of the Task Force, the members made important suggestions regarding the role of Panchayats and Gram Sabhas for rural development and management, empowerment of women members in Panchayats, rural livelihood and unemployment and poverty alleviation.
Shri Pradeep Sharma said in the meeting that Gram Panchayats have a strong role in the three-tier Panchayat Raj system. He said that there should be harmony between district, district and village panchayats. He said that the rights of Panchayats should also be clear. He gave important ideas for rural development including more empowered participation of women in Panchayats and members were also requested to give their necessary suggestions for forming various working groups for the task force. Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri R. Prasanna outlined the strategy of rural development in the context of formation of Working Group of Task Force. Keep important facts regarding the priorities of the working group and the suggestions of experts and the orientation and capacity building of the members of the panchayats including financial inclusion and good governance of the panchayats. He told about the important role of rural development in improving the standard of living in the tribal and vulnerable areas of the state.
Task force members Dr. Shankar Dutta, Dr. Shambhu Prasad, Mr. Neeraj Devangan, Ms. Namita Mishra, Dr. Upma Dewan, Dr. Ashok Jaiswal and Mr. Saroj Mohapatra attended the meeting. In the meeting, the members were requested to take important suggestions and action for the formation of the working group at the earliest. In the meeting, Smt. Batsala Mishra of State Planning Commission informed that 14 Task Forces are to be constituted by the State Planning Commission for advice on various important subjects, out of which 13 have been constituted. He gave detailed information about the task force on rural development and management at the beginning of the meeting. In the meeting, the convener of the task force, Shri VP Tirkey, from the Chhattisgarh State Livelihood Mission, Smt. L.S. Wood was present.
