Awareness Rath flagged off, poster released by Health Department released

Raipur. 1 December 2020 . The poster was released by the Health Department at a program organized on the occasion of World AIDS Day to make people aware of HIV-AIDS. Health Minister Shri T.S. Director, Health Services Shri Neeraj Bansod launched the state level short film competition and state level online quiz competition organized by Chhattisgarh State AIDS Control Committee and Mai MF in the program organized at the residence office of Civil Line, Singhdev. World AIDS Day is being celebrated this year on the theme of ‘ Global Solidarity-Shared Responsibility ‘ .

 

Online quiz competition is being organized by the Health Department for the children of people living with HIV, children of the beneficiaries of Dr. Khubchand Baghel Health Support Scheme and other children. Director, Health Services also distributed prizes to the winners of the Red Ribbon Club competition at the event. He jointly awarded first place in this competition Mr. Rajeev Gupta, student of Rani Durgavati Mahavidyal Wadrafnagar and Ms. Nandini Sinha, student of Government Polytechnic Rajnandgaon and second place Mr. Garima Rathore of Shankara Group of Studies Sector-1, Bhilai did. Nearly four thousand students participated in this competition organized for the students of Red Ribbon Club for the promotion of HIV-AIDS awareness, voluntary blood donation etc. in 91 government colleges of the state.

The program also launched a state level short film competition organized by Chhattisgarh State AIDS Control Committee and Mai MF. Under this, the best films produced on HIV-AIDS awareness, blood donation and discrimination against HIV infected people will be awarded. Mr. Bansod flagged the awareness chariot from the residence office of the Health Minister to make people aware of HIV-AIDS. This vehicle will travel to different areas of the city and make people aware of prevention, screening and treatment of AIDS.

In the program, Director, Health Services cum Project Director Shri Bansod informed about the work being done for prevention and control of HIV-AIDS. He informed that ART center has been established in five districts to provide medicines to HIV infected people in the state. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital of Raipur, Sims Bilaspur, Maharani Hospital of Jagdalpur and District Hospitals of Durg and Surguja are being given free medicines to the infected. A total of 31 security clinics have been set up in medical colleges and district hospitals of the state, where free counseling and drug distribution facilities related to Gupt disease and sexual diseases are available.

There are 36 voluntary organizations working across the state for HIV control and awareness. These organizations are reaching out among high risk groups and encouraging them for HIV screening and counseling. Wide publicity is being done for screening and counseling of the infected. With this, people are coming to ICTC centers for voluntary investigation. Additional project director Dr. S.K. Officials of the Health Department and the State AIDS Control Committee were also present, including Banjwar.
