International Virtual Dialogue on Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Measurement of Mitigation Processes, Reporting and Verification Systems concluded
Raipur, 2 November 2020. A multi-level governance-law national virtual dialogue was held on Saturday in the capital Raipur on the measurement, reporting and verification system for greenhouse gas emissions and mitigation processes in Chhattisgarh. This is the first virtual event on this subject. Multilevel talks organized (Local Government for Sustainable Development) and Climate Group, England.
The Local Government for Sustainable Development and Climate Group, under the Climate Footprint Project, provides technical assistance to state and regional governments to monitor greenhouse gas emissions and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Local Government for Sustainable Development and Climate Group is providing technical advice to local policy makers from regional greenhouse gas inventories to understand and determine emissions sources and emission reduction strategies. Climate Footprint provides direct support and training to Pernambuco (Brazil), Chhattisgarh and West Bengal (India), Baja California, Jalisco and Yucatan (Mexico) and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) under the project.
The first session of the multi-level dialogue discussed integrated monitoring, reporting and verification. In the Central Government, PCCF and Head of Forest Force and Director General, Mr. Mudit Kumar Singh said in his address that the policies and the programs implemented by the State Government for environmental protection and overall development in the perspective of the state Narva-Garva-Ghurwa- Discussed in detail about the Bari program and also explained the Solar Energy Alliance in the state. He informed that the Narva-Garuva-Ghurva-Bari scheme has also been recognized globally. He also stressed the need for basic data standards for verification of generated data in addition to the need for a policy and legal frame for MRV systems.

Bhatt, Ms. Laura Gamra of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology and Regional Science Center, Officer Climate Data, Bonn Center, Germany, Mr. Abhishek Kaushik, Area Coordinator, Global Environmental Research Center, TERI, Mr. Cesarcorreno, Head of Climate Data, ICLEI University Secretariat, Mr. Emanikumar, Deputy General Secretary, ICLEI (South Asia) and Mr. Srinivas Krishnaswamy, Founder Trustee and CEO, Vasudha Foundation participated in the virtual dialogue.
