Raipur: State Government is committed to the development of every enterprise related to agriculture including agriculture sector: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur, 06 December 2021.Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the annual convention and felicitation function organized by Chhattisgarh Pradesh Rice Millers Association at a private hotel in the capital this evening. In the function, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was presented a memento while congratulating the Rice Millers Association for increasing the incentive amount for custom milling in the state from Rs.40 to Rs.120.
 Cooperative Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vinod Sevenlal Chandrakar, Chairman of State Civil Supplies Corporation Mr. Ram Gopal Agrawal, Chairman of State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Devangan, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, President of Rice Millers Association. Officers of the Association from all over the state including Mr. Kailash Rungta, Mr. Pramod Agarwal, Mr. Roshan Chandrakar were present.

 

While addressing the function, Chief Minister  Baghel said that along with farmers, rice millers have an important place in the agricultural economy of Chhattisgarh. To strengthen this, our government is taking every possible initiative to strengthen the farmers as well as the rice millers. He said that the state government is committed for all-round development of agriculture sector in Chhattisgarh. This means that we are not only working to increase the productivity and income of the farmers, but we are also working for the development of every industry and enterprise related to the agriculture sector.

Chief Minister  Baghel further said that the production of paddy is increasing every year after the implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana in Chhattisgarh. In the year 2018, we had procured 80 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, in 2019 we bought 83 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, in 2021 a record purchase of 92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was done. This year our estimate is to procure 01 crore 05 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. He said that despite tough challenges like every time, the work of purchasing record paddy is going on continuously in the state. A demand has been made for five and a quarter lakh bales of jute gunny bags from farmers in the state for smooth procurement of paddy at support price, but so far only 86 thousand bundles of jute bags have been supplied.

Chief Minister  Baghel said that rice mills are directly related to our farms. The problems of rice mills are also problems related to agriculture sector. That is why we have promised that every problem related to rice mills will be resolved with utmost sensitivity and priority. Keeping our promise, we have increased the incentive amount for custom milling from Rs 40 to Rs 120 now. Similarly, the price of gunny bags has also been increased from Rs 18 to Rs 25. Cooperation Minister Dr. Tekam, Chairman of State Civil Supplies Corporation Mr. Agrawal, Chairman of State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Devangan also addressed the function.
