Raipur: State Election Commissioner Mr. Ajay Singh reached Surguja on a one-day visit

Inspected strong rooms, counting places and polling centres

Instructions given to keep all arrangements related to election in order

State Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh was on a one-day visit to Surguja to take stock of the pre-poll preparations under the general elections of urban bodies and three-tier panchayats 2025. Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh inspected the strong room and counting place built in the Government Polytechnic College. He directed to ensure security arrangements, CCTV and all other basic requirements in the strong room before time. Along with him, the Secretary of the Commission Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and Nodal Officer Nagar Palika and Panchayat Elections (Police) Shri O.P. Pal were also present.

Election Commissioner Mr. Singh took information about electricity, drinking water, toilets, adequate barricading, parking arrangements, seating arrangements for agents and counting room at the counting place and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials. During this, he also observed the training of polling parties and asked the master trainers to make the polling parties thoroughly aware of all aspects of the voting process. He also observed the postal ballots. As part of the inspection, Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Ajay Singh also inspected the polling station set up at the Multipurpose Higher Secondary School and directed the concerned officials to ensure availability of all necessary arrangements and facilities.

During the inspection, Surguja Division Commissioner Mr Narendra Dugga, IG Surguja Mr Ankit Garg, Collector Mr Vilas Bhoskar, Superintendent of Police Mr Yogesh Patel, Additional Collector Mr Sunil Nayak, Deputy Secretary of State Election Commission Mr Alok Kumar Srivastava, Under Secretary Mr Pranay Kumar Verma, Deputy Director of Public Relations Department Mr Laxmikant Kosaria and Personal Secretary of Election Commissioner Mr Balram Dewangan along with officers and employees related to the election were present.
