Food and living is an issue related to culture. There is a saying in Chhattisgarh that the mind is like the food one eats. This saying fits perfectly in Chhattisgarh. Sack-stale is a simple and easy meal. Similarly, the people of Chhattisgarh are also simple people, that’s why it is said that Chhattisgarhi is the best.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has appealed to the people to eat sacks and stale food on Labor Day to increase the honor of the simple laborers and farmers of Chhattisgarh. This appeal is also working to connect people emotionally and culturally. The cultural splendor of Chhattisgarh has got a new horizon in the state in the last four years. The importance of typical Chhattisgarhian festivals celebrated in the state has increased. Celebration of Teeja, Pora Hareli festivals at the Chief Minister’s residence has created a sense of pride among the people.
The Chief Minister has started a unique initiative in this episode. He has said that to increase the honor of farmers and laborers, celebrate Bore Baasi Tihar. On the day of Labor Day, all the rich and poor people create an atmosphere of mutual harmony and brotherhood among the people by eating the favorite food sacks of the labourers. This Tihar has been started from last year. It was discussed all over the world. People living in America, Britain and London remembered their motherland by eating sacks. Bore Basi has also been included in the menu of restaurants and hotels in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh’s famous bore basi has been researched in America as well. There its English name is Whole Night Water Soaking Rice. It has been found in research that compared to freshly made rice (rice) in sacks, it has about 60 percent more calories. Apart from this, it has been found in many researches that along with abundant amounts of vitamin B12 in sacks, iron, potassium, calcium are also rich. Sage also works to control blood pressure and hypertension.
In the scorching sun and heat, when the hard working laborer and farmer of Chhattisgarh opens his box by spreading a pot to eat, then one can definitely see stale sacks with patal chutney, gondli in it. Although people were familiar with this sack full of nutrients, but the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has played an important role in giving it a new identity at the global level. He has also invited all the laborers for the labor conference organized in Raipur in the meet-meet program organized in Kurud assembly constituency of Dhamtari district.
Vegetables are usually eaten with stale. In terms of nutritional values, iron elements are present in abundance in vegetables. Apart from this, curd or honey is consumed with stale. In which there is a large amount of calcium. Seeing the benefits of its consumption, it is slowly becoming popular in the country and abroad as well. From children to elders also like to eat it with great fervor. Sacks are an important part of the lifestyle here.
Several steps have been taken in the last four years to promote the culture and folk traditions of Chhattisgarh, Teej festivals. Started celebrating many popular festivals like Teeja, Pora, Hareli in the Chief Minister’s residence, this instilled a sense of pride in the people towards their culture. Along with this, government holidays were also declared on local Teej festivals. Garh Kaleva has been started in all the districts to promote traditional food.
