Before the Assembly General Election-2023, the process of second special summary revision of electoral rolls is going on in the state. Under this, the initial publication of the voter list has been done on August 2. With the initial publication of the voter list on August 2, the work of its special summary revision has started. On the qualifying date of October 1, 2023, the process of getting Form-6 for adding new names to the voter list has been started. Form-7 for deletion of name and Form-8 for any kind of modification or transfer have also been started. These applications will be taken till August 31. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, special camps are being organized for this in all 24 thousand 109 polling stations of the state on August 12 and August 13 and August 19 and August 20.
Chhattisgarh’s Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale informed that these special camp dates have been directed to Booth Level Officers and Designated Officers in all polling stations across the state to receive applications. Generally, Saturday and Sunday are holidays in most institutions, so any citizen who wants to add his name can go to the booth during office hours and submit his application with the help of his booth level officer. Smt. Kangale said that intensive programs are being run in all the districts and assemblies during the revision to make the voter list pure and error-free. Those citizens who cannot apply by going to the booth due to any reason, have been provided the facility of Voter Helpline App and Voter Service Portal to fill the form online. BLO app is being used in polling booths for filling forms by BLOs. The final publication of the voter list will be done on October 4, 2023, after resolving all the claims and objections received by August 31. The final published voter list will be hosted again in the website as well as a hard and a soft copy of it will be provided to the representatives of the recognized political parties at the district level.
