Raipur 30 March 2021. Shyama Bai, who lives in Slum, is happy now. He does not even have tension. Actually, the reason for his happiness is that this summer he will not have to run for drinking water. A tap connection has also reached her house in the locality. Old lady Shyama Bai did not forget the troubles of the past. He remembers well, that the tanker used to cause a ruckus in the house. Whatever pot of water was collected in hand, he had to run outside taking it. Did not have to know what to do to put the pipe in the tanker and fill more and more water. He had to depend on a tanker for drinking water or for any other work in the house. Now Shyama Bai’s tension is gone. A tap connection has also been installed in his house.
Not only is Shyama Bai, who is seeking tension with the arrival of water tankers, there are many families living in posh areas including slums of the city, whose problems have gone away and the problem of those who are left soon will be completely Will go away. In the coming few days, you will not have to wait for the tanker for water and run out with the utensil as soon as the tanker arrives. The government is taking initiative to free tankers with tap connections to the houses of such street localities dependent on tankers. The incomplete work of the water magnification scheme is being completed by the Urban Administration Department. Provision of Rs 220 crore has also been made by the Urban Administration Department for the availability of water with tanker discharge. So far, 120 bodies of the state have also become tanker-free.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahriya have instructed to ensure availability of drinking water to all bodies by making them tanker-free. So far, 4 corporations out of 14 municipal corporations, 23 municipalities out of 43 municipalities and 93 out of 109 municipal panchayats have been tanker-free. Water magnification works have been started by sanctioning schemes in the remaining 46 bodies. While these small words and sentences have hidden the message of importance of water, on the one hand, this word is also related to the needs of all. With a view to fulfill these needs of the people, the Government of Chhattisgarh has taken steps in the direction of providing tap connections to everyone’s homes. So far, tap connections have been provided to 1.42 lakh families. In surface water source based schemes, a plan has been prepared by calculating the value of 135 liters per day for each person and 70 liters per day in tube well source based schemes. Along with this, free tap connection is being provided to the poor families deprived of basic facilities like drinking water through Bhagirathi Nal Jal Yojana.
