As soon as the name of Bore Basi comes on the tongue, in the mind of the people of Chhattisgarh, with Bore Basi, the mind becomes happy with the aroma of mango chutney ie Athan’s chatki, bhaji, curd and big-bijaudi. The craving and longing to eat stale food is clearly visible in the mouth and face. Entire Chhattisgarh will celebrate Labor Day on May 1 in the form of stale sacks. This is the second year of stale sacks. For the first time in Chhattisgarh, in the year 2022, May 1 Labor Day was celebrated as Bore Basi Day. In the first year itself, every section of the state has celebrated Bore Basi Day with their own heart. This year also the whole state is waiting as Bore Basi Diwas.
The importance of Bore Basi Divas increases further when every section of the state, from laborers to traders, from Kotwar to Collector and Panch to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel himself sits together to eat this nutritious food on Labor Day. Bore Basi is celebrated as a festival in different parts of the state. Every section of the state, from farmers to laborers, is seen appreciating this Bore Basi Divas.  
The identity of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is known throughout the country for his innovative initiatives to promote the public welfare of the state and the art-culture of the state. Recently, Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya, run in Durg division, has also honored Chief Minister Mr. Baghel with a doctorate degree for his innovative initiative in the direction of environment-protection and promotion. All the schemes and programs started by the Chief Minister with a view to public welfare and conservation and promotion of the original culture and customs of the state have been getting full support from all the people of the state. Bore Basi is also one of the innovative initiatives of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, which has got the support of the people.
Bore Basi is one of the main dishes in Chhattisgarh. Even in different parts of the state, sacks are also made differently. In the plains of the state, a hot cooked meal of rice is prepared by dipping it in water after cooling down at night, which is eaten in the morning as a breakfast and a filling. Similarly sacks are made of stale small grain crops like kodo, kutgi, ragi and kulthi. Nutrients such as protein, fiber, energy and vitamins, mainly vitamin B-12, mineral salts are found in abundance in these types of sacks. Bore Baasi is more nutritious, tastier and healthier than foods like pizza and momos.
The state government has also fixed the support price of small grains Kodo, Kutki, Ragi with the aim of increasing the income of the farmers of the state. With the commencement of procurement of these crops by the government and getting reasonable prices, the farmers of the state are now returning to their main crops of Kodo-Kutgi and Ragi.

Method of making sacks and stale-

The method of making sacks and stale is very simple. Cooked rice (bhaat) and plain water are needed to make sacks and basi. There is a difference in the nature of both sacks and stale. The meaning of the sack, where it is from the immediately stolen Bhat (rice) which is eaten by dipping it in water. On the other hand, stale Bhaat (rice) is kept immersed in water for a whole night or whole day. Then the next day it is eaten. Many people also eat rice pasia (maad) mixed with rice and water. It is nutritious as well as tasty.
