The role of youth is considered important in making the country prosperous. If the potential of the youth is better utilised, then the state starts progressing rapidly. Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club was formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Umesh Patel to make the youth a partner in the development of the state, so that the youth can join the club and play an active role in the development of the state. The formation of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club was announced by Chief Minister Mr. Baghel on 12 January 2020 on the occasion of State Youth Festival. This scheme was formally launched on 18 September 2021.
There is a target to set up 13 thousand 261 Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs in the state. Till date, more than 13 thousand 242 Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs have been formed. As per the plan each club has 20 to 40 youth. Whose age is between 18 to 40 years. A provision has been made to give a grant of Rs 25 thousand to each club every three months. In this way every year the club will get one lakh rupees. An amount of more than Rs 63 crore 77 lakh has been allocated to Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs so far.
The purpose of formation of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club is to connect the youth with creative works and to take public welfare schemes to the general public through the youth. Joining the club, along with furthering the youth sports, will also work for the protection and promotion of Chhattisgarh’s culture and environment. While starting the scheme, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had said that by organizing the youth, their energy will be used to build a new Chhattisgarh. It is the responsibility of the government to groom the young talent and provide them a suitable platform. Youth power is an important capital for the development of the state. He hoped that youth power would get a direction through Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. Whose benefit will be given to the entire state.
The members of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club are giving their cooperation in taking the government schemes run in the state to the masses. Apart from organizing various sports activities in the state, they are actively participating in it. Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club’s youth environmental protection, tree plantation, cleanliness campaign and drinking water conservation, plastic free campaign, working for 100 percent attendance of children in schools, encouraging school drop out children to enter school, malnutrition campaign, eradication of malaria, save Girls Child is playing an active role in Voluntary Blood Donation Program. Along with this, the youth of the club are spreading awareness on drug de-addiction campaign. The youth of the club are making important contribution in identifying the eligible beneficiaries for beneficiary oriented schemes and in making the benefits of the schemes available to the general public.
Along with this, youths are coordinating with the departments in which events are organized according to skill development programs and objectives of the club. Under the leadership building program, effective management and administration, democratic leadership workshop, training in relation to the development of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs, workshop on information technology and communication skills, programs on current issues of global, national and local importance. He is playing an active role in programs like personal and social skill development, women’s skill upgradation program, youth facilitation center operation, handicraft fair and public talk, protection of community assets, preservation and promotion of culture.
