The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, run by the Chhattisgarh government to encourage crop productivity and crop diversification, with the intention of enriching the agricultural sector in the state of Chhattisgarh, which is called the rice bowl, has given a boost to farming in the state. Due to this the condition of the farmers has changed and they have become prosperous. Under this scheme, so far direct assistance of Rs 20 thousand 103 crore has been given to the farmers in the form of input subsidy. Due to which crop production and productivity has increased. The trend of farmers who have given up farming has again moved towards farming. On August 20, 2023, farmers will be paid Rs 1810 crore as the second installment. Including this, the amount of direct assistance given to farmers for farming under this scheme will be Rs 21,913 crore. The Chhattisgarh government has also waived the outstanding loan of Rs 9270 crore on farmers and irrigation tax of Rs 350 crore.
