Construction of approximately 27 lakh structures under CAMPA item is in progress.

Under the annual action plan 2022-23 of the Chhattisgarh State Compensatory Afforestation, Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) item ‘Narva Development’ program, 26 lakh 75 thousand 544 groundwater augmentation works in 01 thousand 503 small and big drains located in the forest areas of the state. Construction of structures continues. An amount of Rs 284 crore 81 lakh has been approved for its construction. This will benefit the treatment of 2.79 lakh hectares of land.

    It is noteworthy that under the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, a large number of water sources, rivers, drains and ponds have been revived in the forest areas of the state for groundwater conservation and promotion. The work has been taken. Forest Minister Shri Akbar said that under this, structures related to groundwater enrichment will be constructed in the drains of 32 forest divisions of 24 districts including 02 National Parks, 03 Tiger Reserves and 01 Elephant Reserve in the state. Chhattisgarh State Compensatory Afforestation, These water storage structures, built from Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) funds, will ensure availability of drinking water for the people and wild animals living in the forest area. Also, due to water filling in the drain, the surrounding land will remain moist. This will provide convenience in farming as well as increase in sources of income and greenery. Due to which the forest area has been filled with joy.

Structures related to ground water conservation will be constructed in the drains of forest divisions.

    In this regard, Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Forest Force Chief Shri V. Srinivas Rao told that under the Narva Development Programme, under CAMPA’s Annual Action Plan 2022-23, 87 thousand 351 rupees worth Rs 10 crore have been sanctioned in 50 drains of Guru Ghasidas National Park, Rs 5 thousand 351 rupees worth Rs 13 crore in 64 drains under Indravati Tiger Reserve. Construction of 1 thousand 554 structures worth Rs 1.20 crore is in progress in 8 drains of 663 and Kanger Valley National Park. Similarly, 24 thousand 594 rupees worth Rs 11 crore were found in 57 drains of Tomar Pingla Elephant Reserve, 39 thousand 868 rupees worth Rs 9.31 crore were found in 46 drains of Achanakmar Tiger Reserve and 14 thousand 579 rupees worth Rs 1.70 crore were found in 11 drains of Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve. Construction of ground water related structures is in progress.

    Similarly, forest division wise structures will be constructed in 34 drains of Khairagarh, 12 of Balod, 24 of Rajnandgaon, 60 of Kawardha and 40 of Bilaspur. Apart from this, forest division wise structures are being constructed in 86 drains of Marwahi, 27 drains of Korba, 30 drains of Katghora, 41 drains of Raigarh, 22 drains of Dharamjaygarh, 14 drains of Janjgir-Champa and 22 drains of Mungeli. Construction of structures is going on in 67 drains of Gariaband, 28 drains of Balodabazar, 44 drains of Dhamtari and 40 drains of Mahasamund. Apart from this, 49 drains of Kanker, 29 drains of East Bhanupratappur, 37 drains of West Bhanupratappur, 35 drains of Keshkal, 59 drains of South Kondagaon, 43 drains of Narayanpur, 32 drains of Sukma, 56 drains of Bastar, 37 drains of Bijapur, Dantewada.
