In Indian culture, Guru is given equal status to Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Guru is the true guide through whose guidance we achieve our goals. Guru explains the esoteric knowledge in simple words. It is said that parents give values to the child, but Guru fills the child with knowledge along with personality development, hence his status is the highest in the society.
Taking forward the tradition of Guru-Shishya in Chhattisgarh, it has been decided to celebrate Guru Purnima festival this year in the current academic session in all the schools on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai. The intention of the government behind Guru Purnima festival is to develop a cordial relationship between children studying in schools and their teachers. Along with inculcating a feeling of respect for Gurus in children, the belief behind developing a better relationship between Guru-Shishya is that Gurus should also be ready to provide quality education to children with a sense of belonging.
The School Education Department of Chhattisgarh Government has given instructions to celebrate Guru Purnima in all schools from July 22. Apart from teachers and school children, local public representatives will also participate in this event. The program will start with Saraswati Vandana and Guru Vandana. School children will also give lectures on the importance of Gurus in life. On this occasion, senior teachers will also recall memorable moments about their excellent students. Similarly, school children will also discuss many incidents that happened with their teachers. Essay writing and poetry recitation will also be organized in the program.
For the first time after the formation of Chhattisgarh, Guru Parv is being celebrated in schools. This innovative initiative will not only inculcate a sense of social responsibility in teachers, but children will also move towards better character building and study with full dedication along with respect for their teachers.
This event, being organized on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, will once again instill enthusiasm in the educational environment in the schools of Chhattisgarh. The tradition of strong relations between the Guru and the disciple will move forward. A sacred relationship will be formed between the Guru and the disciple. This will definitely help in creating an excellent educational environment for the children in the state.
