Raipur, 04 October 2021.The sowing of Kharif crops in the state is now in the final stage. According to the report received from the Agriculture Department, so far sowing of paddy, other cereal crops including oilseeds and vegetables has been done in 47 lakh 75 thousand 30 hectares, which is 99 percent of the target set for the current Kharif season.
Till now, paddy in 37 lakh 73 thousand 710 hectares, pulses in 3 lakh 39 thousand 430 hectares including other cereal crops in 3 lakh 25 thousand 490 hectares, oilseeds in one lakh 95 thousand 390 hectares and 1 lakh 41 thousand 10 hectares. Sowing of greens and vegetables and other crops has been completed. The state has a target of sowing kharif crops in 48 lakh 20 thousand hectare area in the kharif season 2021, in which paddy in 36 lakh 95 thousand 420 hectare, other cereal crops in 3 lakh 60 thousand hectare and pulses in 3 lakh 76 thousand 670 hectare. The target of cultivating oilseeds in 2 lakh 55 thousand 490 hectares and vegetables and other crops in one lakh 32 thousand 340 hectares is set.
Against the set target, so far paddy has been sown in 26 lakh 2 thousand 760 hectares, which is 102% of the target. Similarly, paddy has been planted in 11 lakh 70 thousand 950 hectares in the state, which is 102% of the target. Paddy has been sown in a total of 37 lakh 73 thousand 710 hectares including sowing and planting sowing, which is 102% of the target of sowing paddy for the current Kharif season. Against the target of sowing of pulses crops in the state so far 90 percent, oilseeds crops 76 percent and greens-vegetables and other crops 107 percent, while 100 percent sowing of other cereal crops has been completed.
