Payment of Rs 7943 crore to 10.14 lakh farmers
So far 21.06 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted

The process of procuring paddy from the farmers at the support price continues unabated in the state. So far, 38 lakh 24 thousand 141 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from the farmers on the support price, in lieu of which Rs 7943 crore has been paid to 10 lakh 13 thousand 497 farmers under the bank linking system. The entire system is being closely monitored so that farmers do not face any kind of problem in selling paddy. Sufficient quantity of gunny bags are available in all the procurement centres.
Due to the system of issuing online tokens to the farmers by the state government this year to buy paddy on the support price, the farmers have started getting comfortable. A large number of farmers have started selecting the date as per their wish to sell paddy through the Token Tuhar Haath app. Along with this, the system of manually issuing tokens to the farmers by the procurement centers continues as in previous years.
Food Secretary Shri T.K. Verma said that this year, 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state to sell paddy on the support price, in which about 2.26 lakh are new farmers. 2568 procurement centers have been set up for paddy purchase in the state. Normal paddy is being bought at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at Rs 2060 per quintal. A strict vigil is being kept on the system of paddy procurement in the state. Goods carriers are being checked at check posts to prevent illegal transportation of paddy from border states. He told that like last year, this year also paddy is being procured along with paddy lifting. In today’s situation, for the lifting of 29.29 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, D.O. Has been issued, in lieu of which 21.06 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the procurement centres.
Today, on December 08, 1,96,063 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 55 thousand 785 farmers in the state, apart from this, more than 51 thousand 534 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from the farmers through tokens obtained online. 79,899 tokens and 18,100 tokens have been issued online through the Token Tuhar Haath app for paddy procurement for the next day.
