Paddy lifting started along with paddy procurement: 9849 metric tonnes of funds lifted for custom milling so far

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the campaign of procurement of paddy in the state by the Chhattisgarh government has started from November 01. So far, 2 lakh 46 thousand 560 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from farmers in the state on support price. Today on November 10, 59 thousand 256 metric tonnes of paddy were purchased from the farmers. Till now, payment of Rs 534.39 crore has been released to farmers under bank linking system in lieu of paddy.
Secretary, Food Department, Mr. Topeshwar Verma informed that 22,316 tokens were issued to the farmers selling paddy today. Token 2468 tokens were issued through Tuhar Haath App. For the purchase of the coming day, 26,587 tokens have been issued for the procurement of paddy in the state and 3,076 tokens have been issued through Tuhar Hath App. Paddy procurement continues uninterrupted in the state. Officials are continuously monitoring the arrangement of paddy. No complaint has been received from anywhere regarding the purchase of paddy.
Food Secretary Mr. Verma informed that like last year, this year also on the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, along with the procurement of paddy, the lifting of funds for custom milling has started. Till now, D.O. for the lifting of 44 thousand 639 metric tonnes of paddy. have been issued. In return, 9,849 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the procurement centers.
Officials of the Food Department said that this year around 110 lakh metric paddy is expected to be procured. 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state for selling paddy on support price, out of which about 1.86 lakh are new farmers. 2497 procurement centers have been set up for the purchase of paddy on support price in the state. This year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at the rate of Rs 2060 per quintal.
