Payment of Rs 600 crores to tribal-forest dwellers
Raipur, 04 April 2021. In accordance with the intention of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, under the able guidance of the Minister of Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Mohammad Akbar, several schemes are being implemented for the upliftment of forest dwellers. As a result, in Chhattisgarh, in the year 2020-21, 3 crore man-days of employment have been made available to the people through the collection and processing of minor forest produce. In this, remuneration amounting to Rs. 600 crores has been distributed to tribal-forest dwellers including small forest produce collectors at the rate of Rs. 200 per day.
The remuneration distributed under this includes Rs 400 crore under tendu leaf collection and Rs 40 crore in tendu leaf treatment and warehousing. Similarly, Managing Director, State Small Forest Produce Association Mr. Sanjay Shukla informed that during the year 2020-21, a remuneration of Rs. 140 crore has been distributed in minor forest produce collection and Rs. 14 crore in minor forest produce treatment and warehousing. Apart from this, remuneration of Rs 2 crore has been paid in primary processing work of minor forest produce and Rs 4 crore under other works.
It is worth noting that at present, 52 minor forest produce are being procured in the state at the minimum support price. These 52 minor forest crops include sal seed, harra, tamarind seeds, chironji kernels, mahua seeds, kusumi lac, rangini lac, kal megh, bahera, nagarmotha, kullu gum, puwad, vine anus, honey and flower broom, mahua flower (dry ) Are included. Apart from this, Jamun seed (dry), Kaunch seed, Dhawai flower (dry), Karanja seed, Bibding and Amla (including seed) and Phool Emli (seedless), Giloy and Bhelwa, One basil seed, One cumin seed, Tamarind seed, These include Behera Kacharia, Harra Kacharia and Neem seeds. Similarly, Kusumi seed, Reetha fruit (dry), Shikakai palli (dry), Satavar root (dry), Cashew kernels, Malkangani seed and Mahul leaf are included.
Also Pallas (flower), White Musli (dry), Indrajou, Patal Kumhara, and Kutaj (bark), Ashwagandha, Amla raw, Savai grass, Thorn broom, Tikhur, Behan lac-kusami, Behan lac-rangini, Bel (raw) ), And berries (raw). Apart from the support price in the purchase of Kusumi Lakh, Rangini Lakh and Kullu Gum, additional incentive is also being given by the state government.
