Raipur, 16 February 2022. Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vinod Chandrakar inaugurated the two-day Sirpur Mahotsav to be held on the occasion of Magh Purnima at Sirpur, a well-known historical place, by lighting the lamp this evening. Addressing the program, he said that this festival is maintaining its ancient culture and grandeur in the era of modernity. He said that the festival is part of the culture and traditions. It is a good thing that the people here are preserving the old traditions and giving them protection. The general public, especially the younger generation, get an opportunity to get to know the Buddhist heritage, folk art and culture closely. Sirpur is the center of faith and reverence of the people. People come from far and wide to perform arts here. In the festival, traders also buy the necessary materials. Referring to the heritage of Sirpur, he also informed about the welfare achievements of the state government.
Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vinod Chandrakar said that such events bring to the public view of the local folk art and culture and the youth of today get an opportunity to learn and connect with the culture. In the era of modernity, it is the responsibility of all of us to maintain our old culture. He said that the organizers of this fair have also taken care of the entertainment of the children. Apart from various types of games, there are also swings, which they are enjoying.
In the festival, the heritage cult dance of Truth by the local artists of village Mudiyadih, the play ‘Ledga au Dedga Ke Boza’ by the Disha Natya Manch of Mahasamund, Krishna Balram Raut dance by the local artists of Lehangar, Karma dance by the schoolgirls of Khatti. . After the launch, solo Kathak dance was presented by Anandita Tiwari and Lok Chhaya Raipur. The chief guest honored the artists. Stalls have been set up by the departments for the promotion of government schemes at the fair site.
On this occasion, Collector Nilesh Kumar Kshirsagar delivered the welcome address and presented mementos to the guests. Superintendent of Police Shri Vivek Shukla, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Shri S. Alok welcomed the chief guest. During this, District Panchayat Vice President Shri Laxman Patel, District President of Scout Guide Shri Daulal Chandrakar, Member of Central Zone Tribal Authority Shri Mohit Dhruv, District Panchayat Member Shri Arun Amar Chandrakar also addressed. On this occasion, local district members, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Sirpur, Mr. Lalit Dhruv along with public representatives, dignitaries were present.
Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu will conclude the Sirpur Mahotsav on Thursday, February 17. Anuj Night program will be organized on the same day.
