Raipur, 07 January 2021. Martyr Mahendra Karma Tendupatta Social Security Scheme is being run efficiently in the interest of Tendupatta collectors under the guidance of Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar. Under this, an amount of Rs 36 lakh 10 thousand has been sanctioned in 23 cases in the state till last month. In this, the sanctioned amount has been transferred to the bank account of the concerned.
Under the sanctioned cases under the Dakshin Bastar (Dantewada) Forest Board, in 11 cases, an amount of Rs. 16 lakh 90 thousand is approved. Similarly, in 7 cases of Dharamjaigarh forest division, 8 lakh 90 thousand rupees and in 2 cases of Rajnandgaon forest board, Rs 4 lakh 30 thousand is approved. Apart from this, an amount of two lakh rupees has been approved in one case under Vanmandal Dhamtari, Gariaband and Manendragarh.
It is worth mentioning that with the objective of providing social security to the tendu leaf collector families in the state, this scheme has been in operation since last August 5, 2020. Under this scheme, the head of the registered collector family engaged in collecting tendu leaves, whose age is from 18 to 50 years on the date of death, is given a grant-in-aid of two lakh rupees to the nominee or heir after his death. An additional amount of Rs two lakh is provided in case of death by accident. In case of full disability due to accident, assistance of Rs. 2 lakh and in case of partial disability, grant grant of Rs. 1 lakh is provided to the accidental eligible tendu leaf collector.
Similarly, the head of the registered collector family engaged in tendu leaf collection, whose age is between 51 and 59 years on the date of death, Rs. 30 thousand to the nominee or successor by his normal death and Rs. 75 thousand on the death of accident. Grant-in-aid is provided. 75 thousand rupees in the event of complete disability in the accident and Rs 37 thousand 500 in the case of partial disability, the grant amount is provided to the accidental eligible tendu leaf collector.
